Spills happen all the time especially when there is a party. In this cases the most frequent spills are from salads, cakes or alcohol such as beer, wine or even whiskey. As every other spill, you need to blot this one, too. This is the first thing to do when you notice it. Thus you can remove large amount of the liquid. Use white paper towels and blot until the towel is dry. In case you prefer to clean it yourself, then you need a spray bottle to fill it with water and spray the stain. For more stubborn whiskey spots, you can try the following recipe: Mix warm water and white vinegar. Add several drops of dish-washing detergent and stir. Use the solution to dab the stain using clean cloth. Now blot with another cloth but soaked in clean water. This is to rinse the solution from the carpet.
